Privacy Policy
Operator and scope
Clock Scenery is provided by MagiScan Inc. (“we”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use our macOS application and contact support.
Last updated: October 18, 2026.
Information on your Mac
The app stores your selected city and its coordinates and time zone, application language, appearance preferences, weather refresh interval, setup status, and cached weather information locally on your Mac. Cached weather includes current conditions and hourly and daily forecasts. The cache is bounded and older city entries are replaced as new entries are saved; it is not a permanent history of your movements.
You choose a city manually. The app does not request device-location permission or automatically track your precise location. A selected city's coordinates describe that city, not necessarily your location.
The app does not require a separate account and does not access your camera, microphone, or photo library. It does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.
City search and weather
When you submit a city search, the app sends the search text to Apple through MapKit. When requesting weather, the app sends the selected city's coordinates to Apple WeatherKit to obtain current conditions and forecasts. It also retrieves Apple Weather attribution resources.
These network requests disclose ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, to the receiving service. Apple's handling of this information is governed by its applicable privacy policies and service terms. We do not operate a separate server that receives your city searches or weather requests.
Purchases
The full version is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. The app uses verified purchase and entitlement information to unlock paid features and restore access. We do not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password. Apple may provide developers with transaction and financial reporting information under its developer services.
Optional system dashboard
The programmer-style dashboard reads CPU load, memory statistics, network-interface traffic counters, and connectivity status locally to display them on your desktop. Its recent readings and events are held locally in memory. The app does not inspect packet contents or browsing history, and does not send those performance readings to our servers.
For connectivity checks, the dashboard can contact Apple's captive.apple.com endpoint. That request shares normal network connection information with Apple, but does not include your CPU, memory, or traffic-counter readings.
Diagnostics
The app may write local diagnostic messages. Apple may collect and make crash, performance, or testing diagnostics available to us through App Store or TestFlight services, subject to Apple's policies and the applicable sharing settings or testing terms. We do not run a separate analytics collection service in the app.
Support
If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, including any attached screenshots or logs. We use this information to respond and investigate your request. Please avoid sending passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to handle support, follow-up, and applicable legal obligations.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Apple processes requests and purchases as described above. Support information may be handled by the email service used to operate our support mailbox, and information may be disclosed where required by law.
Local settings remain until changed or removed; cached weather is replaced as the cache updates. Removing the application does not necessarily remove all macOS preference or container files. Contact support if you need instructions for removing local application data. Apple's retention of information processed by its services follows Apple's policies.
Your choices
You can change the selected city and app preferences, disable launch at login, and stop using the app. You can contact us about information supplied to support and request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Rights and exceptions depend on your jurisdiction. Purchase and Apple Account requests should also be directed to Apple where Apple controls the relevant records.
Children
The app is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support.
Security and international processing
We use reasonable measures appropriate to the information we handle, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Apple and our support email provider may process information in countries other than your own under their applicable terms and safeguards.
Website
The accompanying website stores a language preference in your browser's local storage. Its current source loads fonts from Google Fonts, which results in requests to Google's services. The hosting provider may process IP addresses and access logs to serve and secure the website. The current website source does not include our own analytics or a contact form.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy when the app or our practices change. The published version will show its effective date.
